Hi there! My name is Anisha and I am a licensed psychotherapist who enjoys working with individuals and couples wanting to improve their relationship. My education journey began at UC Berkeley where I received a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, and then I moved on to Saint Mary's College where I received my Master's degree in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy and Professional Clinical Counseling. From there I have gained many years of experience in the mental health field working with all age groups including children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. As I worked with each age group, I recognized my deep passion for helping couples struggling with finding satisfaction within their relationship. To continue gaining specialized skills to do the best work I can with couples, I have completed Levels 1 and 2 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy.

As I continued to work with couples utilizing the Gottman Method I noticed that many couples were struggling with similar issues that had common "roots" of the problem. This made sense to me as throughout my entire educational journey I was never taught, or offered a class, that would help me be the best version of myself for a future partner. No class in grade school offered me effective communication skills, I was never taught about what a "healthy" relationship looked like, aside from the extreme red flags of abuse, and finally I was never taught the importance of creating connection and working on my relationship. Movies and social media also made it seem that relationships should easily function on auto-pilot. It was not until I engaged in my graduate courses that all of these skills were taught to me. I have dedicated my career to instilling and imparting these critical skills to help all couples experience satisfaction and happiness within their relationship. My goal for all couples is to move them into, what Gottman terms, the Positive Perspective.

If you are reading this and finding the content and my story resonates with you, let's work together to help you feel more balanced, happier, and more in control. I thoroughly enjoy working with couples that are determined to grow together towards a healthier and more loving relationship. My ideal clients are those that want to help themselves overcome barriers holding them back from dealing with themselves and others effectively. It is my priority that therapy be a safe non-judgmental space to help assist you uncover and change unhealthy patterns. I believe you have the innate ability to make the changes you want, and I am honored to be alongside you on this journey.
