Together or on your own.
Where do you begin?

A relationship concern can lead you to more than one therapy path. Here’s how the services at Your Next Session differ.

Couples counseling focuses on the relationship.

In couples counseling, both partners participate in conversations about their relationship. You may want to work on communication, recurring conflict, emotional distance, or expectations as your life changes. Anisha’s couples work draws on her Gottman Levels 1 and 2 training.

You don’t have to be married to ask about couples counseling. Before getting started, discuss your goals and the session process with Anisha.

Individual therapy centers on your own experience.

Individual therapy gives you space to explore your needs, relationship patterns, boundaries, stress, and life transitions. You can work on understanding your experience whether you are partnered or single.

This path is centered on your own perspective. It is also a place to talk about what you hope to change in how you communicate, cope, or respond to the people around you.

You can bring the decision to an initial conversation.

If you’re unsure, explain what is bringing you to therapy and ask which service might fit your goals. Questions might include: What would sessions focus on? Who would participate? How are goals established? What are the current fees and availability?

The information here describes the practice’s services; it does not decide which type of care is appropriate for you. That can be discussed directly with a therapist.

Check your benefits for the service you want.

If your employer offers Lyra, confirm covered services and provider matching in your portal. Do not assume that individual therapy coverage also includes couples counseling. Read the Lyra benefits guide for next steps.
