Your Next SessionAnisha Mistry · LMFT, LPCC

Your first online
couples therapy session.

A practical guide to preparing for a conversation with Anisha Mistry.

You can begin without a perfect explanation.

You might know exactly what you want to work on. Or you might only know that you keep having the same argument. An initial conversation can help you explain what feels difficult and ask how working together would look.

Find a private space and check the basics.

Choose somewhere you can speak comfortably without interruptions. Before your appointment, check your internet connection, microphone, camera, and the session instructions Anisha provides. If you and your partner plan to join from different places, ask about that setup in advance. Both partners must be located in California during the session.

Think about what you want to understand.

You don’t need a prepared speech or a list of everything that has gone wrong. Consider what feels hard, what you appreciate about your relationship, and what you would like to be different. You can also bring questions about the process.

Ask about fit, fees, and expectations.

Before arranging a session, ask about current fees, session length, availability, and how couples counseling is structured. If you use Lyra, confirm whether your plan covers couples counseling and whether Anisha is available through your benefit.

Leave room for both perspectives.

Couples counseling involves discussing the relationship from both partners’ perspectives. Your initial conversation is a chance to ask how the therapist approaches those conversations and how goals are established.

Arrange the next step directly.

At Your Next Session, all therapy is online and appointments are arranged directly with Anisha. Please request appointments at least one week ahead. An inquiry does not reserve a time.
